Standard French Lessons — Without Standardised Teaching
A structured CEFR-based course, adapted to your level, your needs and the way you actually progress.

The four skills — reading, listening, writing and speaking — are all part of the course, but they do not have the same place at every level.
At A1-A2, we build solid foundations through comprehension, vocabulary and grammar, then gradually turn what you learn into spoken French. From B1 onward, speaking takes a larger role, while grammar, listening and reading continue to support your progress.
Grammar is especially important from A1 to B1. At B2-C1, the foundations should already be in place, so we revisit them only when a specific point still needs work.
A Framework, Not a Fixed Script
Every lesson usually starts with a few minutes of spontaneous conversation about your week or weekend. It gives you an immediate opportunity to speak and, when useful, to reuse the grammar or vocabulary from the previous lesson.
The structure gives us direction, but it is never rigid. I adapt each session to your level, your current needs and the difficulties I notice as we work together.
In a 60-minute lesson, we cannot always cover all four skills. I therefore prioritise what will be most useful for you at that moment rather than trying to follow a programme mechanically.

Standard Does Not Mean Standardised
I use the CEFR as a framework, but I do not teach every student in exactly the same way. Two learners at the same level can have completely different strengths, gaps, habits and goals.
As we work together, I listen for recurring problems, notice what comes easily and what does not, and adapt the next lessons accordingly. The programme gives us structure; your actual French determines the priorities.
Your Course Continues Between Lessons
The lesson does not end when the call or class finishes. After each session, you receive:
- A personalised summary of what we worked on
- The key vocabulary, grammar and corrections from the lesson
- Targeted homework to reinforce what needs to become more automatic
- Full corrections with clear explanations
- Preparation for the next lesson, adapted to your progress and recurring difficulties
Everything is centralised in your dedicated virtual classroom, so you can find your reports, homework and corrections in one place at any time. What I notice in one lesson also helps me decide what deserves more attention in the next.
Standard lessons, conversation classes, or both?
Standard French lessons are especially useful from A1 to B1, when grammar, vocabulary and comprehension need to develop together.
From B2 onward, many students benefit from more dedicated speaking practice through my French conversation classes. At B1, combining both formats can be particularly effective.
French Lessons Built Around What You Need
You may be learning French to travel, study, work, prepare for an exam or settle in France. Your goal influences the vocabulary, situations, documents and skills we prioritise, so the course remains structured without becoming generic.
